The Gold and Diamond Park, the United Arab Emirate (UAE)'s jewelry manufacturing and retailing outlet, has recorded a 150 percent increase in visitor traffic to the retail center in twelve months of trading ending November 2002.
The Gold and Diamond Park is one of the very few centers in the Middle East to be recognized by the World Gold Council. The Park, a project of Emaar Properties, attracted 156,350 visitors to December 2002, a significant increase in numbers from the same period last year when 57,650 visitors were registered.
“Currently, the park comprises 30 retail outlets and 118 manufacturing units. Through a long-standing agreement with Jebel Ali Free Zone, the Park has full free zone facilities, including 100 percent foreign ownership, making it a competitive place to shop and an enviable location for retailers and manufacturers,” said Park Manager, Manan Desai.
The Park offers gold jewellery, diamonds, semi precious and precious stones cut in Belgium, Thailand, India, Africa, besides those cut in-house. Seawater pearls from Tahiti and Australia, are also available. — (menareport.com)
