TransGlobe Energy Corp. saw its oil and gas reserves increase in 2004 at its operations in Yemen, the leading oil firm said in a statement Tuesday. It added the Calgary-based oil and gas explorer had achieved an increase in its total proven reserves at 78 per cent between the end of 2003 and the close of 2004.

The company's oil production in Yemen increased 34 per cent. "The major increases in proven reserves were attributed to the An Nagyah field in Yemen and new drilling in Canada," the statement said.
