Travellers are becoming more selective in their destinations, looking for peace and quiet as well as pampering, according to Manoj Kanwal, general manager of the Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna.
Kanwal said: “While hotel brochures can show photos of sandy beaches and sunshine, we are finding most tour operators are looking for the one thing you can’t show in a brochure – silence.”
Senior management at Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna, which has just opened, are targeting the niche leisure market. Markets to have shown healthy interest in the pre-opening period include German, Swiss and Austrian tour operators as well as the GCC market,
Kanwal explained: “We are a new destination to the region, and the first boutique resort on the undeveloped west coast of the UAE, and believe word-of-mouth will prove key to our success.
“Visitors know that when they come to Jebel Dhanna, they will get peace and privacy. There are no construction sites nearby, and the 800 metres of private beach and clear waters are exclusive to guests in our 109 rooms.
“Thanks to feedback from tour operators at World Travel Market among other events, tourists are willing to pay a premium to ensure they get the peace and quiet that the brochures promise.”
The full-service deluxe resort has six private waterfront villas that overlook the sea, and are ideal for honeymooners, families or small groups. Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna also features extensive banqueting, meeting rooms and outside areas catering for up to 1,000 guests, plus a par-36 nine hole sand golf course and a driving range, and a host of sports, spa and leisure facilities.
Located opposite the Sir Bani Yas island, the Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna boasts a unique opportunity to visit the nature reserve, as well as deserted desert dunes and the unpolluted Gulf waters for scuba and fishing trips.
