ALBAWABA – After Trump was found guilty in a Civil Fraud case launched by New York Attorney General Letitia James, with Judge Arthur Engoron ruling against Trump to pay $354 million in fines for fraudulent business practices, the Attorney General recently stated in an interview with ABC News her willingness to seize Trump’s assets if he is unable to pay the fine.
James said "If he does not have funds to pay off the judgment, then we will seek judgment enforcement mechanisms in court, and we will ask the judge to seize his assets," noting that his buildings and assets are at risk of seizing, despite Trump’s legal team’s decision to appeal.
The $354 million fine, which experts estimate that Trump may need to liquidate some of his real estate to pay off according to Yahoo Finance, came as a result of the former president’s alleged corporate malpractice, where he and his sons were claimed to submit invalid financial data to the accountants of Trump’s various companies to make him appear more richer in hopes of securing different business deals.

Trump denies any wrongdoings and stands against the court’s ruling, while his legal team promised to appeal the case, claiming Judge Arthur Engoron has committed Judicial Malpractice and that the case is politically motivated as the US Presidential Elections come closer, with Trump’s attorney Alina Habba commenting that the verdict is “manifest injustice” and an end result of a “multi-year, politically fueled witch hunt that was designed to take down Donald Trump.”
Letitia James says she is confident that Trump’s appeal would not succeed, as well as pointing to Trump’s building at 40 Wall Street as a target, stating “We are prepared to make sure that the judgment is paid to New Yorkers, and yes, I look at 40 Wall Street each and every day.”
