Tunisia signs dual loan deal with AFESD

An official Tunisian source revealed that members of the Arab Economic and Social Development Fund (AFESD) have signed two loan agreements with the Tunisian government last Saturday.  

 

The duel loan signed is valued at 50 million Tunisian dinars ($34.5 million), according to Al-Quds Al-Arabi daily. The Tunisian minister of international cooperation, Fathi Merdasy, said that both loans would be used to finance small projects in the industry, agriculture and handcraft sectors.  

 

The AFESD is an autonomous development finance Pan-Arab organization. Its membership consists of all states who are members of the League of Arab States. Its function is to assist the economic and social development of Arab countries through financing development projects, encouraging the investment of private and public funds in Arab projects and providing technical assistance services for Arab economic and social development. ― (MENA Report)
