Tunisian Social Affairs minister Hedi M'henni and his Spanish counterpart, Juan Carlos Aparicio Perez, have signed a bilateral social security agreement.

According to the agreement, Tunisia and Spain will both provide each other’s nationals and their families with social services and healthcare.

The agreement covers the free transfer of financial assets from Tunisia to Spain and vice versa, and provides for the possibility of Tunisian and Spanish workers combining affiliation periods in retirement plans.

The agreements covers the implementation of social security laws regarding social insurance, industrial injuries and occupational hazards, family allocations and old age, disablement and survivors’ pensions. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
