The Tunisian government targets an annual 5.7 percent economic growth rate by the year 2006, under its currently applied five-year economic development plan, reported Al-Hayat. The plan, which was launched at the beginning of 2001, aims to augment the private sector’s contribution to the national economy from the 55 percent recorded last year to 60 percent by 2006. The plan also targets attracting 750 million Tunisian dinars ($520 million) in foreign investments per annum. — (menareport.com)
