Turkey’s chemical exports increased by 48 percent in January, according to the nation’s Minister of Foreign Trade, Kursad Tuzmen.
According to data published by the Turkish Exporters' Association, the Islamic republic’s total exports increased by 38 percent last month, Anadolu quoted Tuzmen as saying. Exports of industrial products rose by 40 percent and textile exports increased by 22 percent.
The chemical industry, one of the Turkey's largest in terms of value, is concentrated in a few large state enterprises, including the Petrochemical Corporation (Petkim) and Etibank, and some 600 private enterprises. Chemicals produced in Turkey include boron products, caustic soda, chlorine, industrial chemicals, and sodium phosphates. — (menareport.com)
