Turkey’s fourth GSM operator Aycell launched

Turkey’s fourth GSM operator Aycell launched its commercial activities on Friday, December 14. Established by the national carrier Turk Telekom, Aycell is hoped to accelerate competition in the telecom sector, the Anatolia press agency reported. 

 

Aycell’s coverage will encompass the whole of Turkey by the second half of 2002. The company’s services will be available shortly in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Adana, Mugla, Cesme, Foca, Kemalpasa, Urla, Kumluca, Alanya, Side, Manavgat, Kemer, Belek, Kas, Kale, Marmaris, Fethiye, Gocek and Bodrum. 

 

The company charges no fixed monthly fee. Aycell subscribers will be charged per second of call, through a code number of 0505 for calls paid both through accounts and are prepaid cards. — (menareport.com)
