Share prices here rallied by 7.35 percent to 8,958 points on the main index in early trading in Istanbul on Monday, February 26.
On Friday the index had gained 5.7 percent to 8,344 points in the aftermath of a decision by the government before dawn on Thursday to end a pegged link between the Turkish lira and the dollar.
The index has now recovered from a record slump of 18.1 percent on Wednesday as the financial crisis unfolded. —(AFP)
