Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates (TVS) has opened its first international office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The office will manage TVS' architectural, planning, and interior design efforts in the Middle East. TVS has two other offices in Atlanta and Chicago.

"As our business expands internationally, it has become clear that we need a team of designers dedicated to serve our Middle East clients," said Behr Champana-Gagneron, AIA, vice president of TVS International. "The strong economic growth of this region is prompting a building boom."

The first major design project awarded to TVS is The Al Sufouh, a large mixed use development within the Media City district of Dubai, overlooking the resort beaches of Jumeriah. The Moorish-inspired design includes a 32-story serviced apartment tower, a 16-story office tower, a two-level retail podium and a parking deck. TVS has also been awarded a 4.4 million square foot landmark mixed use development. The firm has issued formal proposals for other large mixed use projects in the region, including Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Lebanon.

TVS hired Fady Khalife as the Director of Operations for the Middle East. Mr. Khalife is an experienced architect from Lebanon. He has been working in Dubai for several years, and has been a key designer in some of the region's largest urban planning and mixed use design projects.

TVS is a leading design firm with more than 35 years of proven experience in planning, architecture and interior design. TVS was honored with the prestigious AIA 2002 Architecture Firm Award, which is the highest honor awarded to a firm by the American Institute of Architects. (menareport.com)
