In an attempt to avoid a dairy price war, the Emirates' cabinet recently commissioned the ministry of treasury and industry to organize a meeting of Gulf dairy companies which import to the UAE, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
The Emirati cabinet is demanding that companies sign an agreement to prevent future price wars, such as the one that was waged last year following fierce market competition between Saudi and Emirati dairy companies. It was made known that a company that refuses to abide by the agreement’s provisions will be subject to penalties. — (MENA Report)
