Fish farming company Asmak has signed a deal worth an estimated six million Emirati dirhams ($1.6 million) with a leading distributor in Canada and the US to export freshly farmed fish from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Signed at the at the 11th European Seafood Exhibition held in Brussels in May 2003, the contract calls for the export of 250 tons of fresh fish annually. Asmak’s fish are harvested in Ras Al-Khaimah and Dibba farms on a daily basis and will be available to customers in North America the next day.
In the space of four years, Asmak has established extensive operations across the region that incorporate international standards to fulfill the requirements of the local and international clients. — (menareport.com)
