Dubai’s plastic card manufacturer Cupola Plastic Cards Ltd. (CPCL) and the German-based ORGA, a chip-based smart card producer, have forged an alliance to become the region’s one-stop shop for cards.
ORGA will be responsible for setting up the fulfillment facility at CPCL premises at Jebel Ali free Zone. The fulfillment facility will have the capability for all Card fulfillment requirements including; packaging, printed matter, PIN letters.
“The lack of a secure locally based Fulfillment Center has been a concern for most GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) operators and banks within the region, now they have options, with a shorter delivery time, which gives them better time to market,” said Jonathan Elcombe, ORGA's regional general manager.
Under the new partnership, chip-based SIM phone cards will be manufactured and encoded by ORGA, the starter pack and information package will be custom made at the CPCL fulfillment center, and all subsequent prepaid cards bought will be manufactured by CPCL.
“In keeping with the regions migration to chip-based products, whether it is a mobile telephone SIM card, an ID card or a credit card, CPCL and ORGA will now be able to provide a complete product solution,” stated Khaled Moharem, CPCL's director for sales and marketing.
CPCL is a Visa International and MasterCard International accredited facility based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Operational since 1999, CPCL manufactures printed and laminated plastic cards including credit cards, ATM cards, membership/loyalty cards, identity cards, access control cards, and pre-paid scratch-off cards. — (menareport.com)
