The UAE issued a new regulation entitling international market players the option of de-registering their trade licenses from local sponsors, allowing them to operate freely. According to Gulf News, this practice will be adopted to ensure UAE is in line with free market regulations.

International brands wishing to sell their products in the UAE mostly have to enter into a contract with a registered local agent (partnership) which are traditionally difficult to escape from and can lead to complacency on behalf of agents.
