UAE lifts ban on South African livestock imports

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government recently announced that it will lift the ban that it imposed last year on importing livestock from South Africa. The decision was made official after the Paris-based International Epizootics Office confirmed that South African livestock was free of disease, reported Khaleej Times

 

Between March and April 2001 the governments of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain banned cow sheep and goat imports from African countries, following an outbreak of Rift Valley Fever. — (menareport.com)
