The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Prefabricated Buildings Company will begin exporting goods to foreign markets this year, according to a statement by the firm’s chairman of the board, Khaled Kalban, to Al-Ittihad daily. Presently, Prefabricated Buildings exports 30 percent of all its prefabricated products, which stand at 50,000 tons per annum.
Kalban added that the firm controls 50 percent of the UAE’s domestic fabricated houses market, including related accessories. In addition, the chairman maintained that significant profitability and productivity characterized the company’s activities over the last three years.
In 2000, the Emirates Prefabricated Buildings Co. received the ISO 14000 award, for meeting international standards and specifications in the fabricated home manufacturing sector. ― (MENA Report)
