A restructuring of the UAE's monetary policies and the implementation of the Performance Budgeting System helped the country achieve a budget surplus of AED 38.2 bn, a ministerial report has indicated. State revenues increased to AED160.5 bn, reflecting a 69.3% rise over receipts compiled in 2004.
Public expenditure amounted to AED122.3 bn in 2005, a rise of 27% over 2004’s bill. The budget surplus of AED 38.2 bn compares with a deficit of AED1.5 bn in 2004.
