ALBAWABA – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is witnessing a 90% increase in artificial intelligence (AI) job opportunities. Technology companies are constantly looking for top-notch experts to join their forces, according to the Future Tech Talent Report.

The UAE Ministry of Economy launched the Future Tech Talent Report 2024 at GITEX x Expand North Star 2024, the ultimate super connector event for global startups and investors.

This year’s report was launched in collaboration with Integra Seven, a Dubai-based consulting agency, du, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company P.J.S.C., and Fragomen, the world's leading immigration services firm.

UAE Future Tech Talent Report 2024 highlighted UAE’s status as a global leading hub for technology talent and a premier destination for industry leaders and experts.

Additionally, the report showcases the significant strategies and methods adopted by major companies and startups across diverse sectors, including healthcare, financial services, and logistics.

Juma Mohammed Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, said: “The findings of the latest UAE Future Tech Talent Report affirm that the UAE continues to be a powerful magnet for the world’s best and brightest minds. As we advance towards a knowledge-based economy, this will be a cornerstone of our mission to establish new industries, foster new capabilities, and develop new forms of value creation. 

The report also validates our efforts to create an environment in which these talents can thrive, offering not just outstanding career progression but high living standards, safe and secure communities, and exceptional educational opportunities. In today’s rapidly evolving global economy, tech talent is proving to be a key source of competitive advantage, and we are determined to stay top-of-mind when they seek opportunities that match their ambition.”

According to the report, about 48% of employers say that local talents in the country are always available. However, over 95% of employers are looking for specialized skills from abroad, and two-thirds agree that hiring high-level experts remains challenging, particularly in the fields of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

It is worth noting that the UAE saw a significant increase of 90% in the use of AI-based recruitment tools since 2022.
