ALBAWABA - French video game developer and publisher Ubisoft announced on Wednesday that it had bounced back into profit in its fiscal year 2023–2024 after dropping 494.2 million euros in profit the year before due to postponed releases, as it unveils the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows in a cinematic trailer.
Ubisoft's fiscal year ending in March 2024 brought in a net profit of 157.8 million euros ($171.6 million) and 2.31 billion euros in full-year net bookings with non-IFRS operating income at 401.5 million euros ($435.35 million), supported by successful launches of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and The Crew Motorfest as well as boosted growth for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
"Our full-year 2024 results confirm that Ubisoft is back on track on its profitable growth trajectory," stated CEO Yves Guillemot, adding “we are also pleased with the sales momentum demonstrated by our two new releases, which mark the successful return of Ubisoft’s IPs among the major games launches of the industry.”
Ubisoft also announced the finalization of a significant deal with Activision Blizzard in October, giving the family-run studio the exclusive right to broadcast Call of Duty and all other current Activision Blizzard Console and PC games, as well as those that will be released over the following 15 years, indefinitely.
Ubisoft has also fully revealed Assassin's Creed Shadows on Wednesday, the next entry in the action role-playing game franchise, previously codenamed Assassin’s Creed Red, in a cinematic trailer that introduces players to Ubisoft's take on 1579 Feudal Japan with two playable protagonists, the stealthy shinobi Naoe and the action-orientated Yasuke
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is releasing on Amazon Luna, Mac, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X on November 15 with pre-orders available right away.
