Management consultancy Strategem has secured a €200,000 contract to help the European Union and the Egyptian government put some of the country’s highest priority industries on a sound commercial footing for future growth.

Working within Egypt’s Industrial Modernization Program, Strategem’s role will be to review both the global preparedness and the strategic potential of key companies within core sectors of the Egyptian economy. The consultancy will then identify priority actions that each company will need to take to begin to fulfill its long term potential.

The project, which will focus on a broad range of sectors including textiles, construction, food and furniture production, falls within the remit of the EU’s MEDA Program and represents a €250 million commitment to support the development of the Egyptian private sector, through technical assistance to enterprises and generally improving the business environment.

Strategem’s head of Global Consultancy, Allen Erskine, says that the EU has identified Egypt as a critically important economy within the Mediterranean region. "Under the MEDA Program, The EU is making significant investments within a number of economies in the Mediterranean and Middle East regions. These investments not only help to foster economic stability but also produce commercial benefits for European businesses looking to secure new markets and partnerships.”

Strategem’s offices are located in Manchester, Glasgow, Newport, Cairo and Abu Dhabi. — (menareport.com)
