The UK’s unemployment rate decreased to 4.2% on a quarterly basis in April-June from 4.4% in March-May, according to official data on Tuesday.

The unemployment rate for April-June fell below the 4.5% estimate, data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed.

Women’s unemployment rate in the UK decreased to 3.9% from 4%, while men’s unemployment rate fell to 4.4% from 4.8% during the same period.

The ONS stated that while the UK’s unemployment rate was down on a quarterly and an annual basis, it was still above pre-pandemic levels.
