US President Bush said the United States and the Palestinian Authority (PA) will establish a joint Palestine Economic Development Group to promote jobs, growth and investment in the Palestinian economy.
Speaking to reporters in Washington on Friday, July 25 with visiting Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas, Bush added that he will dispatch Treasury Secretary John Snow and Commerce Secretary Donald Evans to the region in the fall with instructions to find out what steps the United States can take to help build a solid economic foundation for a sovereign Palestinian state.
Bush recently approved a grant of $20 million to the Palestinian Authority to improve the daily lives of the Palestinians. — (menareport.com)
