The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will hold a regional transportation security forum in Cairo, Egypt, aimed at helping Middle Eastern, South Asian and African nations integrate new security procedures and technologies into their operations.
Taking place at the Grand Hyatt Cairo from February 9 to 11, the forum will present information on new security initiatives affecting the region, as well as business opportunities related to security projects currently under development.
The meeting will bring together key representatives from maritime and civil aviation authorities, customs officials, port and airport operators, freight forwarders, air and ocean carriers, and corporate shippers. Under the theme Secure Trade Through New Partnerships and New Technologies, the forum will also be open to providers of security and supply chain products and services.
Organizations supporting the forum include the World Customs Organization and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA). Officials from the Export-Import Bank of the United States and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation will also participate to discuss finance and insurance programs available to companies for security-related projects in the region. — (menareport.com)
