The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has awarded Oman's Ministry of Transport and Communications a $460,000 grant to study the feasibility of using International Satellite Test Beds for advanced air traffic management in the Middle East.
Both the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have placed a high priority on the use of satellite navigation technology, which will promote greater regional cooperation in aviation safety and security in the Middle East.
USTDA advances economic development and US commercial interests in developing and middle-income countries. The agency funds various forms of technical assistance, feasibility studies, training, orientation visits and business workshops that support the development of a modern infrastructure and a fair and open trading environment. — (menareport.com)
