The value of ornamental fish imports to the UAE has crossed USD 1.14 million in 2008, with demand for exotic fishes in the country expected to grow by 5 to 7 per cent annually, according to latest market figures. In line with the speedy growth of this industry, Orange Fairs & Events has announced the launch of ‘Aquariya Expo 2009’, the premier ornamental aquatic exhibition and the largest consumer event for the marine aquarium industry in the Middle East. The organiser also revealed that a total of 50 exhibitors from over 15 countries have already confirmed their participation, along with industry experts who will be talking about the new trends and breakthroughs in the market within the event’s three-day run, from March 04 - 06, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai.
With over 5,000 manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors, retailers, and even hobbyists in ornamental and exotic fish expected to attend, the show is poised to become a powerful platform for local and international aquarium enterprises. ‘Aquariya Expo 2009’ is also being dubbed as an all-inclusive marine event, as it will feature a wide array of exotic fishes and reef aquariums, as well as peripheral goods and equipment such as corals, inverts and pet accessories for display & trade. Our goal is to provide a unique opportunity to ornamental aquatic industry players to explore the growing potential in the Middle East, and consequently further promote the growth of this sector worldwide.”
In addition to a showcase of world-class ornamental aquatic products and peripherals, the event will also feature seminars and workshops highlighting the latest developments in the ornamental fish industry.
