The total value of real estate projects currently under way in the Middle East region has already crossed the US$1 trillion mark," said Mr. Christopher Hudson, Exhibitions Director of Messe Frankfurt, citing industry statistics.

Mr. Hudson made his statement as Dubai is bracing itself for the Dubai Ideal Home Show, which will take place from November 30 to December 3, 2006 at the Airport Expo Dubai, According to Messe Frankfurt, organizers of the show, the event will attract hundreds of manufacturers, distributors, retailers, designers, exhibiting products and services for the discerning regional consumers.

The continuing boom in the region's property sector has resulted in a follow-on impact on related industries including interior and exterior design, kitchen, table and dining products, home technology, arts and crafts for the home, and garden & outdoor living that seek to capitalize on this development.

"With a variety of mixed-use projects in various stages of development and new projects being announced on a frequent basis throughout the region, the Dubai Ideal Home Show 2006 provides the best opportunity for auxiliary businesses to thrive," Mr. Hudson remarked.

He noted that the UAE and in particular Dubai was the most suitable location to stage a show that will bring together experts from the fields of interior design, landscaping, arts, crafts and allied sectors together under one roof.

"We feel that the regional industry has a lot to benefit from participating in an event of this stature and both professionals as well as the consumer can look for the latest in residential design solutions and products, whether you're looking for architectural design, interior design, concept design or custom home design," Mr. Hudson stressed.

Design and decoration being the key elements of any dwelling, it is the choice of the individual with independent tastes that mark the characteristics of any home. With this in mind, the organizers have focused on every single aspect of this crucial factor in putting together an event that will be relevant to everyone.

With individual home ownership on the rise in the region, the event lays special emphasis on those with various cultural and ethnic backgrounds who would like to choose a suitable environment for their place of dwelling. In order to cater to the tastes and needs of such individuals, the show has been appropriately segmented.

At last year's show there were more than 200 exhibitors and over 7,500 visitors who had a chance to choose and decide their home environment. The attendance and participation this year is expected to be much higher following the coming together of the two leading publishing houses in the UAE.
