The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) announced that the volume of the private sector's debts to the Saudi banks grew to SR 447 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2006, up from SR 339 billion in the same period last year, an increase of SR 170.1 billion.
SAMA has also announced that the volume of the public sector's debts to the Saudi banks decreased to SR 161 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2006, a SR 15 billion decline compared with the same period last year.
