An agreement has been signed between Volvo Car Overseas Corporation and Mohsin Haider Darwish (MHD) appointing the Omani business group as the official and sole distributor for Volvo cars in the Sultanate.
The sales of Volvo are growing steadily in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the appointment of MHD LLC as the official Volvo distributor signals the initiation of a plan to increase Volvo sales significantly in Oman, stated a company press release.
“MHD LLC has represented Land Rover and Jaguar for the past four decades and we are proud to become the official distributor for Volvo, complementing our current brands,” said MHD Managing Director Mohsin Haider Darwish.
The MHD LLC service division is equipped with diagnostic and maintenance equipment, specific Volvo tools and equipment and is staffed by technicians trained by Volvo. The company also has an automotive parts division and is now the sole distributor in Oman for genuine parts and accessories for Volvo, as well as for Land Rover and Jaguar.
The new Volvo showroom, located in Azaiba, Muscat, will be staffed by a team of sales consultants trained by Volvo. The new 2002 Volvo model range which includes the C70 Coupe and Cabriolet, the S40, the S60, the S80 saloon and the all wheel drive Cross Country will be available from late October 2002. — (menareport.com)
