Volvo Cars Middle East proudly reaffirms its partnership with First Motor Company, an Al-Futtaim Group Company, as the sole distributor for passenger cars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This comes as an extension of the long-standing productive relationship between the manufacturer of the world’s safest cars and the UAE’s largest automotive distributor.

First Motor Company will commence operations in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, reinforcing Volvo’s commitment to meeting its customer’s demands within the Saudi market. The Kingdom’s flagship Volvo dealership in Dammam will be inaugurated by Lex Kerssemakers, President of VCOC.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with a long-standing “Volvo friend”. We have collaborated with the Al-Futtaim Group since 1985 in the UAE and have received hugely positive feedback from our customers,” said Tomas Ernberg, Managing Director, Volvo Cars Middle East said.

“Securing a strong, trustworthy partner is key for the sustainability and growth of Volvo. First Motor Company will incorporate Volvo's best practices and processes, ensuring a superior sales and service experience for our stakeholders in KSA. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Zahid Tractor & Heavy Machinery Co Ltd, our previous dealer in KSA, for the commitment that it has shown to the Volvo car brand and customers for nearly three decades,” said Ernberg.

The extension into KSA will ensure a continuity of capabilities and experience in one of the fastest growing automobile markets in the GCC region. First Motor Company will bring in their knowledge of the automotive sector and their familiarity of Volvo cars acquired through Al-Futtaim’s the long-standing partnerships in the UAE and Qatar.

“Our knowledge of the Volvo brand paired with extensive experience within the Saudi auto market will allow us to continue delivering the best service to Volvo customers in KSA,” said Steve Grey General Manager, First Motor Company.

First Motor Company will showcase the full range of Volvo models including the C30, C70, S40, S60, S80, XC90 and the all new XC60.

Volvo’s long-standing commitment to the Saudi market began with Zahid Tractor, which despite its decision to exit the automobile market at the beginning of 2009 has continued to deliver quality service to Volvo Car customers. Zahid Tractor will cease to provide service to Volvo Car customers on 31st March 2010. Volvo Cars would like to thank Zahid for its continued excellence in facilitating quality assistance to Volvo’s customers throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
