Kuwait's National Assembly (Parliament) resumed its session Monday after it was adjourned earlier in the day due to huge differences between the parliament and government over key issues, including salary raise.

The session discussed the increment of the salaries, wages and the pension salaries following the approval of 44 out of 60 MPs who attended the session.

According to KUNA, Parliament Speaker, Jassem Mohammed Al-Khorafi said at the opening of the session that the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah had suggested the discussion of the salaries increment after completing the second round of discussion on the Municipality law although this proposal only got the approval of 26 out of 58 MPs.
