The Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Reclamation, Youssef Walli, was recently cited by the Al-Ahram newspaper, stating that the 60-million Egyptian pound loan, provided to the Agricultural Services Project in the Western Nobariya Region by the World Agricultural Development Fund has facilitated the project’s tremendous success.
According to Walli, the project enabled 10,000 young graduate farmers in the villages of western Nobariya to possess 100,000 heads of cattle annually, providing 50,000 tons of meat. As a result, this project has helped the local community not only to enhance its meat self-sufficiency, but also enables them to provide their dairy products’ requirements themselves. In addition, the project allowed for the irrigation of an overall area of 200,000 fadans. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
