Western Solutions to renovate Iraq’s Umm Qasr Naval Base

US-based Weston Solutions has been awarded a $10.2 million task order to renovate the Umm Qasr Naval Base for the Iraqi Armed Forces. Work is expected to be complete by mid-May 2004.  

 

The agreement falls under Weston’s Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction (WERC) contract supporting the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE). The company will work with AFCEE and the Coalition Military Assistance Training Team (CMATT) to renovate the naval base. Weston intends to involve Iraqi contractors, suppliers and labor in the project, stated a press release.
