WhatsApp downgrades new update due to user backlash

ALBAWABA - Amid making headlines across social media and news outlets for a minor change in its new update, Meta's chatting service WhatsApp seems to have backtracked the change after receiving backlash from its users. 

The minor change in question changed the first letters of 'Online' and 'Typing' from lowercase to capital which was received negatively among WhatsApp's users despite it being such a minor change. Here's what some users had to say about the matter:

"If it ain't broke, why fix it?" 

"This hurt my soul." 

"It feels off, please change it back." 

"Only a capital letter different, but I hate it so much."

According to the Daily Mail, Meta's WhatsApp team confirmed that they will be backtracking on the change soon as one of its spokespeople said: 

"This was just a small test, but it's going back to normal now". 

WhatsApp introduced a minor change in its new update that dropped non-IOS and Android last week but without formally announcing it but users were fast to notice as they took to social media platforms to complain about the matter as mentioned above.

The change took place after WhatsApp introduced a new way for users to communicate with each other in hopes of making it more user-friendly and adding new things to the table. 

New additions include, shortcuts the addition of bulleted points in group chats, and highlighting key points making it easier for users to plan things together. You could already customize the things you write with bold, italic, strikethrough, and monospace options.
