Wheels and deals sign off commercial vehicles show

More than 1,600 transport industry professionals from around the region attended the inaugural Middle East Commercial Vehicles Show that ended a four-day run at the Dubai Autodrome on Thursday Nov 30.

 

They saw a powerful lineup of the world’s best in trucks, trailers, tankers, buses, fire engines, ambulances, mounted cranes, and rough terrain cranes.

 

More than 60 exhibitors took part, capitalising on the opportunity to show their wares in one of the fastest-growing markets for commercial vehicles.

 

From Kuwait, Al Ghanim Sons Group, the sole distributors of China’s SHAC brand in the GCC, Iraq and Lebanon, used the show to introduce SHAC’s latest range including vans, pickups, and trucks and reported a very positive response from trade visitors. Al Ghanim is very optimistic of closing several deals as a result.

 

TATA’s Motor’s, the largest automobile company in India, the fifth largest medium and heavy truck manufacturer and second-largest bus manufacturer in the world, introduced its latest Novus range to Middle East customers and closed a deal for more than 100 vehicles.

 

Representatives from Higer Off Road Motors, the recently launched automobile dealer that won the exclusive distributorship of Higer King-Long for the UAE market, said that the quality of visitors was above expectations. They managed to meet high-potential clients and introduced them to Higer’s new range of buses.

 

NAFFCO, ranked eighth worldwide in producing fire fighting and specialised vehicles, showed a wide range of new products as well as the latest armoured cars produced by Centigon. Officials reported a very successful show where they met targeted clients from Syria, Iraq, USA, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi, and the UAE and established a new alliance with a Dutch company specialising in exchanging technology and equipment.

 

Other participants included Belhasa Motors, Renault, Al Futtaim Motors, Mammut, Bison, Iran Khodro, Gulfcoen, Voith Turbo, Caterpillar, Al Dobowi, Wah Fai, Ocean City, Shac, Naffco, Supertech, Al Ghandi, Gulf Oil, Al Nabooda Automobiles, Eicher, and a host of international brands.

 

The show was organised by Zenith Events and supported by Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Aviation, Al Awir Free Zone and the UAE Contractors Association.
