Bawadi, a member of Tatweer, announced on Monday that work had begun on the architectural and engineering design of the world's largest hotel, the Asia Hotel & Resort.
The design will be undertaken by Pelli Clarke Pelli, known for its unique and free style that attempts to exemplify the special characteristics of each project, according to Khaleej Times.
Bawadi will have more than 29,000 hotel rooms, will reportedly be able to host more than three million tourists by 2016, and will stand as a centerpiece of the region's largest tourism resort in Dubai.
