The World Bank has recently approved a new $7 million credit line to support the Palestinian educational sector. This aid will enable educational facilities to continue functioning despite political and economic hardships facing the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), reports in London based Al-Hayat stated.
The new “Educational Work” program, implemented by the Palestinian Ministry of Education, will also benefit from the assistance. The program facilitates the supervision and management of the educational system, and has received approximately $630,000 from the PNA.
World Bank operations (including co-financing) account for about one quarter of the donor activities in Palestine. This aid comes in one of four forms: recurrent budget support, emergency employment, investments, and technical assistance, policy and management services. –(MENA Reports)
