In its regular Tuesday meeting, the Yemeni Cabinet approved a number of tenders for sanitation projects, in Sana'a, worth of more than YR7,838,000,000. The sanitation projects cover al-Rowdhah, al-Jiraf, Beer Ubeid and central Hadda at a total cost of $32,405,715 to be funded by the government and the Arab Development Fund. UPVC pipes at a length of 263 kilometers and a diameter of 200-600 millimeters, and GRP pipes, the diameter of 700 millimeters, will be used in this project, SABA reported.
The sanitation projects will be meant to ameliorate the environment and protect the people against the health consequences of sewage overflow.
The Cabinet also approved a tender for the rehabilitation of Hodeida water network at a cost of YR 45,877,000 at the funding of the government and the World Bank. The project includes installation of new pipes within the current network.
Furthermore, it approved a tender for building the vocational training center at a cost of $7,045,852, which will be funded by the government and the Islamic Bank.
