Geochemical exploration surveys carried out by Yemen's General Authority for Survey and Minerals (GASM) have indicated that Yemen has large quantities of gold, the state-run 26sep.net reported on Sunday. In its recent report, the GASM said the surveys also revealed that Yemen has over 40 gold sites and many other minerals and stones which would provide unique opportunities for investment.

GASM pointed out that many opportunities exist in the gold sector.

According to the report, the area of Wadi Madan contains some 678 tons of minerals in which 15 percent of gold and 11 percent of silver.
