ALBAWABA – During the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF) 2024, Emaar and Noon’s founder and businessman Mohammed Alabbar, has announced new projects in Dubai’s Creek Harbor that include a 6,000 square kms city, twice the size of the of Downtown Dubai, a kilometre-long tower, and an innovative new mall that allows visitors to drive their electric vehicles through, as reported by Gulf Today’s Staff Reporter.
Alabbar says that the project is likely to be incredibly special as this will be the first time that automobiles are allowed into a mall, adding that it is an ‘exciting thing’, stating “we did not come up with this ourselves, we learnt it from somewhere”, as reported by Khaleej Times.
The successful businessman also gave details regarding the new tower, which has received the green light and is starting construction now, describing it as a “female Burj Khalifa”, drawing a comparison between its elegant design and the infamous Marilyn Monroe, according to Khaleej Times, and is expected to have its initial look revealed in the upcoming couple of months according to Gulf Today.
The new Dubai Creek project spans over 6,000 square kms in size and is expected to become the “new downtown” according to Khaleej Times, commenting on the reason why Emaar is not building a new ‘tallest in the UAE tower’, Alabbar said that this decision came by addressing the city’s elegance, noting how they plan to beautify cities by balancing an Islamic design appeal with modern architecture language, which he gave Sharjah as an example of a successful effort in that, describing how difficult such a balance is, as reported by Gulf Today.
