Leading engineering group, Cavotec, has won the Best Emerging Market Airport Equipment Service Provider award at the Second Emerging Market Airport (EMA) Awards in Dubai.

“We are delighted that our innovative technologies, and cooperation with our customers and partners have been recognised by the EMA Awards,” says Juergen Strommer, Cavotec Managing Director and Regional Manager for Middle East and India.

“This is an important achievement for Cavotec and our colleagues in the region. We will continue to focus on the strengths that have brought us here today,” Strommer adds.

The competition celebrates excellence in the airports sector in Africa, the Indian sub-continent, Russia, CIS, Eastern Europe and the Baltic States.

The awards cover a wide variety of categories ranging from Best Airport Design and Planning to Best Communications Service Provider, and even Airport Cargo Personality of the Year. The competition seeks to highlight best practice and significant achievements in the industry, in areas such as reducing airports’ environmental impact.

The competition is organised by Dubai-based event-management company Arabian Reach that specialises in hosting awards, exhibitions, conferences and road shows in the Airports, Aviation, Logistics, Education & Leisure sectors.

This year’s winners were announced at a gala event attended by more than 700 aviation industry leaders held in Dubai on June 1.

Cavotec has recently reported major contracts with Dubai International Airport, the new Muscat International Airport, Bahrain International Airport and the new Doha International Airport for a variety of ground support equipment systems.

Cavotec’s ground support systems include its pre-conditioned air (PCAir) technology, and fuel hydrant pits. These systems offer streamlined, efficient operations, energy savings, reductions in insurance and maintenance costs, and significant environmental benefits in terms of reduced carbon emissions.
