UAE-based Coffee Planet, a multi-solutions coffee company supplying every market sector in the coffee retail chain, from crop to cup, has appointed Andy James to direct its Convenience Store sector.

In his new role as Key Account Director, James will be responsible for building upon the successful operational performance of key accounts such as the outlets in over 140 ADNOC and ENOC/EPPCO stations. Initially he will manage four teams across all seven UAE emirates, consisting of 40 staff members, covering sales to delivery and installation to maintenance and customer service.

“Andy will also market and manage all events and promotions and will develop, implement, evaluate and monitor a clear and concise sales and marketing strategy,” said Richard Jones, Managing Director, Coffee Planet.

“However, besides generating revenue, it is essential that Andy ensures that we deliver our promise - a consistency of quality in both product and service that Coffee Planet has built its enviable brand reputation on,” added Jones.

As a fully qualified Barista and coffee trainer, James brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in the food and beverage industry. Prior to joining Coffee Planet, he worked at Costa Coffee in the U.A.E. as an Operations Manager for a large estate of stores.  Previous roles held by James included Operations Manager for Coffee Republic and Site Director at Welcome Break service stations in the U.K.

“Given the ongoing expansion of Coffee Planet in the UAE, including the recent launch of our new $2 million roastery in Jebel Ali Free Zone, the largest of its kind in the Middle East, Andy will play a significant role in assisting key clients to capitalise on marketing opportunities to sell more coffee” added Jones.

Commenting on his new role, James said: “Coffee Planet is a very dynamic company that is rapidly expanding and has ambitions to be an international force in coffee retailing. This is a very exciting time for Coffee Planet and I am delighted to join such a passionate and dedicated team at this point in the company’s development."
