Under patronage of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Hamad bin Mohamed Al Sharqi, Chairman of Fujairah Culture & Media Authority, Concorde Hotel Fujairah, recently hosted the opening ceremony of the first regional office of International Theatre Institute (ITI) – Unesco in the emirate.

The ceremony was attended by Ali Mahdi, ITI Vice President and Fujairah government officials in the presence of a large number of VIPs and dignitaries residing in the emirate. The first of its kind in the country, the ITI centre is expected to contribute to maintaining and promoting the Arab identity among younger generations belonging to various countries and ethnic groups. It will also serve as a bridge to help the large expatriate community residing in the country better understand the land and people of the UAE.

Ayman Ashor, Resident Manager, Concorde Hotel Fujairah, said: “We are extremely happy to host such an event and would like to congratulate Fujairah Culture and Media Authority for reaching yet another milestone. The opening of this centre will give a boost to fine arts in the emirate and contribute to the Arabian Spirit of friendship between different people in the area of youth, training and culture.”

The elegant five-star hotel is located in the heart of Fujairah city on the main Sheikh Hamad bin Abdulla road just 15 minutes from Fujairah port and five minutes from Fujairah International Airport. Boasting superbly furnished rooms and suites with views of the sea or mountains looking towards the international airport, it was opened earlier this year. Other iconic hotels of the Group in the UAE include Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort and Emirates Grand.
