A car bomb in the central city of Homs killed 10 people Friday, pro-regime Al-Mayadeen television reported.
The blast occurred in front of Bilal Al-Habshi in Akrama neighborhood after Friday prayers, the television said.
Meanwhile, the Syrian army advanced in the old quarter of the city called Old Homs, the media outlet said, seizing several buildings in Wadi Al-Sayeh, including St. George church.
Thursday, members of the UN Security Council expressed concern over the plight of civilians caught in the fighting in Old Homs, Joy Ogwu the council’s president said, urging “the immediate implementation” of a February resolution to improve humanitarian access in Syria.
