The crossover vehicle by Peugeot
The Peugeot 3008 is a compact yet spacious crossover. It represents a new and innovative offering in the Peugeot range as well as in today’s automotive market as a whole. Its concept and specifications are drawn from the Lion brand’s expertise, know-how and values.
The 3008 is positioned at the crossroads between several existing vehicles: the SUV, the MPV and hatchback. The car draws its strengths from this blend of motoring concepts while adopting new and original technologies (Dynamic Rolling Control, Hill Assist, Head-up Display, etc.), enabling it to combine specifications often labeled incompatible (driving pleasure inside a “high” vehicle, improved traction while being eco-friendly).
The 3008 offers simple and high-tech solutions for pleasure, serenity and security. Apart from its innovative concept, the 3008 is designed as a pioneering vehicle that is endowed with technologies that are not often seen in other cars such as the Head-up Display, Distance Alert, Hill Assist and many more high-end innovations.
As such, “… the Peugeot 3008 is the perfect choice for a buyer looking for an SUV, but not wanting to drive it off-road,” said Jamal Sahl, Peugeot’s regional general manager. “The 3008,” he added, “offers the urban driver all the safety and performance aspects that are inherent to its category, both active and passive, however with a spectacular competitive advantage: the ability to save up to 50% of the fuel consumption associated with other SUVs. Moreover,” he pursued, “such a distinction will definitely appeal to today’s socially responsible driver, allowing him to exercise his commitment toward a better environment.”
The Head-up Display enables the driver to access speed and Distance Alert-related information without having to take his eyes off the road. Providing the driver with all the comfort and convenience required for long or daily trips, this feature is an additional benefit in terms of primary safety and security.
The Distance Alert system, coupled with the Head-up Display and a special radar at the front of the vehicle, complements the existing driving assistance systems such as cruise control and speed limit. This technology allows the driver to keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front, according to his own speed.
The 3008 also features a Hill Assist system for greater convenience and safety. This function keeps the vehicle at a standstill while on a gradient for two seconds after the brake pedal has been released, giving the driver time to transfer his foot from the brake to the accelerator. This makes maneuvering safer and facilitates the use of the vehicle by the driver in forward gear as well as in reverse gear.
Finally, the 3008 combines the Group’s expertise, experience and latest technologies for maximum safety and security at all levels, while offering an unrivalled driving delight.
In spite of its success and strong demand in launch markets, the Peugeot 3008 is presently available and can be test driven at all Peugeot dealers.
