The Department of Municipal Affairs organized a workshop about information security
As a part of series of workshops which aim to shed the light on the main projects and initiatives in different sectors and divisions in the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA), the Strategic Planning & Performance Management Office organized a workshop about information security and policy used to counter any possible threat to the DMA assets.
The workshop covered the activities and functions of the IT Section in the DMA and the used information security policy which is based on three factors, Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information. These factors are very important in order to meet the requirements of the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision which aims for the Government of Abu Dhabi to become one of the best five governments in the world with regards to the services offered to the public.
In order to achieve the 2030 vision, the governmental entities will rely more on government information and therefore this might cause a wide range of risks, and requires a comprehensive information security program to deal with any possible threat. And in order to meet these concerns the DMA always made sure of having in place the most effective security programs and applications to block any possible threat to the Municipal assets and that of which can guarantee the protection of sensitive information along with other governmental entities who are all operating under one government policy to meet the requirements of the growth and development process the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is witnessing at present.
