ALBAWABA - Morning commuters in Portland, Oregon, were treated to an unusual sight after two pygmy goats unexpectedly boarded a public bus during rush hour, briefly becoming the city's most unlikely passengers.
The incident unfolded when the bus stopped to pick up commuters, allowing the pair of goats to casually wander onboard. Surveillance footage showed one passenger attempting to usher the animals back outside as surprised riders watched the unexpected encounter.
According to TriMet, Portland's public transportation agency, the bus driver quickly noticed the unusual passengers and reopened the doors, allowing the goats to exit safely. The animals then wandered toward a nearby shopping center.
Authorities said the city's 911 emergency dispatch center had already received several reports earlier that morning about two loose goats roaming the neighborhood.
Police later searched the area around the shopping center after the animals disappeared from surveillance cameras but were unable to locate them or determine whether they had returned to their owner.
Officials said no further sightings of the goats were reported for the remainder of the day, and their owner has yet to be identified.
The lighthearted episode quickly gained attention online, with many social media users joking that the goats had simply decided to test Portland's public transportation system before continuing their adventure.
