A twin car bombing Friday targeted a crowd of Shiite pilgrims as they walked to the holy city of Karbala for a major religious ceremony, killing at least 32 and injuring 154 people, Iraqi ministry officials said. According to the AP, an Iraqi police official said it was two mortar rounds that hit the area, followed by a suicide car bomb.
In another attack Friday, a roadside bomb struck a bus carrying pilgrims through Baghdad, killing one and injuring 13, police and hospital officials said.
