Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI), a leading center of law studies and judicial training in Dubai, recently concluded the military judiciary training program, in cooperation with Dubai Public Prosecution and the Forensic Evidences and Criminology Directorate at Dubai Police. The program was based on a knowledge sharing methodology that covered theoretical programs, applied learning and practical training to enhance skills of personnel working in military judiciary, and thereby increasing their contribution to reinforcing legal and judicial excellence in Dubai.

The program featured practical training sessions at the headquarters of Dubai Public Prosecution and the Forensic Evidences and Criminology Directorate at Dubai Police, where each trainee was supervised by a public prosecutor from specialized public prosecution departments of Bur Dubai, Deira and Drug Public Prosecution Departments, to ensure that each trainee is informed about the basics of public prosecution and all details regarding the legal process, beginning with lodging of a complaint at the police station to passing a judgment at Dubai Courts. The training course featured visits to the public prosecutors’ offices at police stations to closely learn about the way of dealing with suspects at police stations and also to get trained on investigation methods.

Dr. Judge Jamal Hussein Al Sumaiti, Director General of DJI, expressed his pleasure on the conclusion of the military judiciary training program in cooperation with Dubai Public Prosecution and Dubai Police. He said that this was in line with the Institute's plans aimed at providing the legal and judicial community with qualified and trained cadres who are able to support the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, especially with regard to its focus on safety, security and justice.

Al Sumaiti added: "We are very optimistic that these training programs can bridge the knowledge and professional gap among judicial trainees in line with the job market requirements. These courses will qualify them to actively execute their responsibilities and hold leading positions in both the judiciary and public prosecution as well as contribute towards the development of the legal and judicial sector, thus supporting Dubai’s growth plans and reinforcing its position on the world map.”
