Dubai Investments reports profit of AED 239 million for six months period ended 30 June 2011

Dubai Investments, the largest investment company listed on the Dubai Financial Market, today announced its financial results for the six month period ended 30 June 2011.
DI reported profits of AED239 million for the period with total income at AED1.37 billion.Total assets as on30 June 2011amount toAED14.3 billion while total liabilities amount to AED5.1 billion. Net worth of the company stands at AED9.2 billion and the annualized return on share capital achieved for the period was 13.3 per cent.
Khalid Bin Kalban, Managing Director and CEO, Dubai Investments, said:“The Group remains well capitalized with equity of AED9.2 billion over an asset base of AED14.3 billion and a leverage ratio of less than 25 per cent. The low leveraged structure coupled with diversification into different business sectors has resulted in DI achieving consistent good results despite the regional unrests and slow recovery of real estate activities within the UAE.”
He added: “During the period, the group has concluded various financing facilities thatwill enable it to expand capacities in the industrial and manufacturing sectors and facilitate entry into new segments and markets,thusincreasing revenue base. Negotiations for additional facilities are at advanced stages and expected to be concluded in the second half of the year.”
